Mr. Dadhi Ram Bhandari


Director Information and Poverty Alleviation 

Mr. Dadhi Ram Bhandari, joined the SAARC Secretariat on 16 April 2018 as Director, Information and Poverty Alleviation Division. 


Mr. Bhandari is a cadre of Nepal Foreign Service since April 2003 who has served in different capacities both at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kathmandu and Nepali Diplomatic Missions abroad. He worked as Under Secretary, SAARC Section- Regional Organization Division (October 2017-April 2018) and North East Asia Division (February 2016- October 2017).  


During June 2014 to February 2016, Mr. Bhandari worked as Officer, Office of the Foreign Secretary and Desk Officer, United Nations, International Organization and International Law Division. He also worked as Desk Officer, Europe America Division and General Administration Division (October 2009- June 2010). Mr. Bhandari also served as Consul, Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa, the People's Republic of China (June 2010- June 2014). Earlier he was posted as Third Secretary in the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations and Other International Organizations, Geneva (March 2006-October 2009), South Asia Division (India and Bhutan Section) and General Administration Division in the Ministry (April 2003-March 2006). He involved as a member of delegation to the visits of the Prime Minister of Nepal to the 60th Anniversary of the Asian-African Conference and 10th Anniversary of the New Asian-African Strategic Partnership (NAASP), Jakarta (2015) and Boao Forum for Asia (2016), Hainan as well as the official visits of the Prime Minister of Nepal to China (2016 and 2017). 


Mr. Bhandari is graduated in Public Administration (MPA) and also holds BA (Economics and English) and LLB degrees from the Tribhuvan University. He attended diplomatic training courses on diverse issues of regional and global significance from the Australian National University (2015), International Institute of Humanitarian Law, Italy (2008), Advisory Center on WTO Law- Geneva (2007) and UN Institute for Training and Research (2006, 2007).
