- ICCR SCHOLARSHIPS

Award of Scholarships to the nationals of SAARC Member States under the SAARC Chair Fellowship Scholarship Scheme for the Academic Year 2012 – 13 by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)

ICCR has announced that two (02) scholarships wil be offered to each SAARC Member State.

ICCR specifies following with regard to the award of the scholarships/fellowship:

-         In case the nominee happens to be a ward of Official of Resident Missions in India, the application would not be entertained.

-         The airfare is not provided to students selected under the SAARC Chair Fellowship and Scholarship Scheme.

-         In the case of scholars pursuing science courses, the expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will have to be borne by the scholars themselves.

- GOVERNMENT OF NEPAL SCHOLARSHIPS UNDER THE REVISED SAARC CHAIR, FELLOWSHIP AND SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The Government of Nepal has offered one seat for MBBS and one seat for Master's Degree Course on Rural Development under the Revised SAARC Chair, Fellowship and Scholarship Scheme, tenable in Nepal.

Selections for the one seat for the MBBS course will be among Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan and Afghanistan and one seat for the Master's Degree Course on Rural Development will be among India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.

The nominations for the MBBS Course should be sent to the Government of Nepal by 1 November 2011 and for the Master's Degree Course on Rural Development by 16 November 2011 (Application process completed).

SAARC Chair, Fellowship & Scholarship Scheme tenable in Bangladesh

The Government of Bangladesh invites applications from SAARC Member States for 1 (one) SAARC Chair, 4 (four) SAARC Fellowship, 10 (ten) SAARC Scholarships tenable in Bangladesh.

Terms of reference and general guidelines for the scheme are enclosed herewith and interested candidates from SAARC Member States are requested to apply in the prescribed form. Applicants have to submit 2 (two) full sets of applications.

The University Grants Commission of Bangladesh will make the final selections and arrange placement of the selected scholars in appropriate Universities.

The deadline for received applications by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh is 31 December 2011 -  (Application process completed)
