Post Graduate in Management.
Worked as Personnel Officer for two years in a reputed Petrochemicals Company (1987 – 1988)
Joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1989.
Before joining the SAARC Secretariat, served as number two officer in the Indian Embassy, Manila (March 2009 – September 2010).
Prior to that served as Director handling territories of Eurasia and Latin America in the Ministry of External Affairs from September 2004 till December 2008.
In 2006, successfully attended the 46th National Defence College course, Delhi.
Other assignments:
C’da/First Secretary, Embassy of India, Algeria (January 2002 – August 2004)
First Secretary, Embassy of India, France (October 1998 – December 2001)
Second Secretary, Embassy of India, Qatar (June 1995 – September 1998); and
Desk Officer for India Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme in the Ministry of External Affairs from July 1993 to June 1995.
