SAARC accredited as Observer at COP16, Cancun, Mexico
December 1, 2010The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) has been accredited as an Observer at the Sixteenth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP16) taking place in Cancun, Mexico from 29 November to 10 December 2010. This decision was taken by the Bureau of the Sixteenth Session on 29 November 2010 pursuant to the request made by the delegation of Bhutan as the current Chair of SAARC. Bhutan will also present a common SAARC position on climate change during the high level segment.
